Bioecon welcomes Rob van der Meij

Rob van der Meij joined BIOeCON as Business Director in June 2007. After graduating from Delft Technical University in Chemical Engineering, Rob started his career in 1987 at Akzo Nobel's catalyst group in Applications Research and Market Development for chemical process catalysts. Sales, marketing and business management functions, both in the Netherlands and Houston, TX, USA followed in Hydroprocessing catalysts, FCC catalysts and Technology Licensing. Rob left Akzo Nobel to join Gemini Consulting (later Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Strategic Consulting) in strategy consulting and implementation to broaden his skill set. He joined Shell's catalyst group CRI/Criterion preparing the alignment with Shell Global Solutions and commercializing Clean Fuels technologies. His last assignment for Shell from 2004 to 2007 was in Shell Chemicals as Global Business Manager for Alcohol & Alcohol Derivatives, supplying surfactant materials to major detergent manufacturers all over the world.

Rob is married to Sandra, with 2 children, Juliette (8) and Sjors (5), living in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. In his spare time he likes to golf, read, cook and sleep, with no sequence preference in these activities.
